Frequently Asked Questions

What is a funding rate?

Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short traders to keep perpetual futures prices anchored to the spot market. Paid every 8 hours on most exchanges.

When does funding cost become significant?

Funding accumulates over time. A 0.01% rate per 8h equals 0.03% per day and ~1.1% per month. On a large leveraged position this adds up quickly.

What are Binance perpetual futures fees?

Binance charges maker fee 0.02% and taker fee 0.05%. Maximum leverage is 125×. This calculator uses these defaults but you can adjust them for your actual rate tier.

Is this calculator specific to Binance?

Yes — the exchange is pre-selected to Binance with live prices pulled from their API. You can switch to any other supported exchange using the instrument selector.
