Funding rates on Polymarket Perps

Polymarket Perps settles funding every hour, on the hour. The rate is calculated based on the difference between the mark price and index price, with an interest rate component. If you hold a position through a funding timestamp, you pay or receive based on your side.

This calculator fetches actual historical Polymarket Perps funding rates for the selected instrument and sums the exact cost for your holding period, not an estimate. Enter the date you opened your position and the calculator accounts for every funding interval from then to now.

Polymarket Perps fee structure

Polymarket Perps charges maker fee 0.0125% and taker fee 0.04% on perpetual futures. Maximum available leverage is 50×. This calculator pre-fills these defaults so you get accurate results without needing to look up the fee schedule. If you are on a VIP tier with discounted fees, adjust the fee fields accordingly.

Maker orders (limit orders that add liquidity) cost less than taker orders (market orders that remove liquidity). On Polymarket Perps, using limit orders for both entry and exit can reduce your total fee cost significantly compared to market orders.

FAQ
Q.01

What is a funding rate?

Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short traders to keep perpetual futures prices anchored to the spot market. Paid every 8 hours on most exchanges.

Q.02

When does funding cost become significant?

Funding accumulates over time. On an hourly schedule, even a tiny per-period rate compounds faster since there are 24 payments a day instead of 3. On a large leveraged position this adds up quickly.

Q.03

What assumptions and edge cases does this calculator use?

Size, entry price and days must be above zero. The funding rate is a fraction per interval (0.0001 is 0.01 percent) and can be negative, and the interval is 0.25 to 24 hours (default 8). If funding costs more than the whole position is worth you get an error. Not covered: a funding rate that changes during the hold, and price moves.

Q.04

What are Polymarket Perps perpetual futures fees?

Polymarket Perps charges maker fee 0.0125% and taker fee 0.04%. Maximum leverage is 50×. This calculator uses these defaults but you can adjust them for your actual rate tier.

Q.05

Is this calculator specific to Polymarket Perps?

Yes, the exchange is pre-selected to Polymarket Perps with live prices pulled from their API. You can switch to any other supported exchange using the instrument selector.
